Loughgall had a very comprehensive four nil victory on their last visit back in early September but it was Queen’s who opened the scoring after just 7 minutes on a very blustery day at the Dub. Jonah Mitchell’s low cross was directed into the far corner by Philip Traynor. The visitors were soon level, Ferris converting from the spot. Three minutes later Peter Campbell burst through the middle and drove a low shot past Declan Brown in the Queen’s goal. Despite the conditions it was an entertaining game and Queen’s were soon level when Ronan Young’s cross was flicked in by Mitchell but Ferris scored from close range to send his team in at the break with a one goal lead.
In the second half Queen’s played against an ever strengthening wind and were forced to defend for most of the half as Loughgall dominated proceedings. The impressive Peter Campbell completed his hat trick with strikes in the 62nd and 85th minutes. Loughgall also missed a series of good chances running out worthy winners.
Next is an away game against Portadown on Sat 15th February, KO 3pm
