Queen’s University 7 Portstewart 0

Premier Intermediate League

After a quiet start to the game Queen’s scored after 13 minutes when good work by Barry Walsh and
Eamon Fyfe set up Ryan McCready 14 yards out and he calmly guided a low shot into the corner of
the goal. A second score soon arrived when Fyfe got to the by line on the left and his low cross was
turned in at the near post by Matt Hughes. McCready scored again with a delightful chip over the
keeper after he had been played in by Hughes. On 35 minutes it was 4-0 when Ciaran O’Hare broke
free and his low drive went in at the near post.

The second half was a quieter affair but 3 further goals rounded off an excellent display. Scorers
were Hughes with a great shot from the edge of the box, Aaron Keenan who tapped in at the far
post from a long cross by David Elliott and in the dying moments Ronan Young’s shot went through a
lot of players and into the far corner.

This was a very good display of attacking football as a result of which we are now top of the league
table.

Next is an Intermediate Cup game home to Mid Ulster League side Markethill Swifts on Saturday 21st
October, ko 1:30pm
