Entering the last week of the League season a win was vitally important to maintain second place.
Moyola packed their defence from the start and made it difficult for Queen’s to penetrate. Queen’s did most of the attacking and Ronan Young had no luck when his low shot hit the post and rebounded to safety after 30 minutes. The breakthrough came 2 minutes before the break. Eamon Fyfe’s shot from the left side of the box was deflected past Marcin Farniok in the Moyola goal.
Queen’s continued on top in the second half but found a resolute Moyola defence hard to overcome. Moyola came forward more towards the end of the game and came close to an equaliser but Queen’s held on for a vital 3 points.
Dundela have now won the League so with two games left, second place is now our target. A draw in either of our two final games will ensure the runner up place.
