All games are very important now especially this one against the only team below us in the League table.
The home side were on top early on but were unable to create any goal chances. Queen’s had a good spell of dominance before half time when they made and missed three very good chances. Firstly Daire Rooney’s close range shot hit Michael Magill on the leg and deflected wide for a corner. In a period of sustained pressure Noel Corrigan’s cross from the left found Stuart Harper 12 yards out but his first time side foot volley was too high. Rooney’s shot on the turn was then palmed away for a corner by Magill and the first half ended scoreless.
Queen’s were to pay the price for missed chances. One minute into the second period Declan Brown made a good save but the ball fell nicely for Padraig McKissock to fire it into the roof of the net. Soon after, Sport & Leisure were down to ten men but not much changed in the game. Craig Briers’ cross from the left wing presented a good heading chance for Daniel Hanna but again Magill came to the rescue with a good save. Queen’s fought valiantly for an equaliser but couldn’t score on the night. In the final minute Sport&Leisure were reduced to 9 men when Tully was shown a second yellow card.
