Following our victory at Bangor last Saturday, one more win was likely to be enough to secure our place in the PIL.
In a fast paced, entertaining game, Queen’s had the better of the first half. Connor Mulholland’s shot hit the arm of central defender McCleland, resulting in a penalty which Alan Blaney saved and Mulholland, following up, could not convert the loose ball.
In the second half Dundela were on top and their best chance fell to Owain Beggs, whose low shot across the face of goal went narrowly wide of the far post. In the gathering darkness, Ryan Tumelty played in Nathan Jones whose low shot found the far corner of the goal off the hand of Blaney for the winner for the home side.
