This was the third meeting with Dundela this season. They were victorious in both previous games.
Queen’s played down the hill in a fairly even first half. The first good chance fell to the home side when David McMaster’s low cross from the right wing found Ben Roy who should have scored but his first time effort hit the outside of the post. With 30 minutes gone Stuart Harper got his head to a cross from the right and the ball trickled into the empty goal as Alan Blaney had come for the cross but failed to make contact.
The second half was a different game. Dundela pushed the visitors deeper and deeper into their own half. It was all hands to the pumps as Dundela made and missed a number of good chances. James Softley’s low shot hit the post and former Queen’s player Owain Beggs got through one on one with Queen’s keeper, Declan Brown but his shot came back off the crossbar. Dundela hit the crossbar again before, in the last few minutes, Brown’s long kick found Ryan Tumelty who made the game safe from 10 yards.
This was another very welcome, if somewhat fortunate three points.
Next game is home to Tobermore on Sat 25th March ko 3pm
