After a win in the previous game against UUJ, a win was needed against magee at the Dub to clinch a place in the quarter finals. Queen's were without Paddy Donnelly, Marcus McPhilips, Philip Lowry and Craig Ramsey so Scott Best, Neal Wilkinson and Declan O'Donnell made their debuts. This was Magee's first game in the group
Queen's had most of the possession in the first half but it was scoreless at half-time due to a series of good chances not taken.
The second half continued in the same vein as the first with Queen's on top and missing chances. It was a highly competitive game and referree Campton found it necessary to administer a number of yellow cards. Magee defender McDaid was perhaps fortunate not to receive a red card for a trip on Ryan Murphy as he burst into the box. In the final 10 minutes Queen's laid siege to the Magee goal but could not score.
Two points thrown away here means that qualification for the quarter finals is not now in our hands.
